Deal Advisor was a mobile web app for Kelley Blue Book that helped consumers evaluate vehicle purchase offers in real time while on the dealership lot. The experience brings together pricing transparency, trade-in valuation, and financing insights into a single guided workflow, empowering buyers with clear, confidence-building feedback so they can make informed decisions and reduce friction during negotiations.

Car buying involves multiple moving variables such as price, trade-in, financing, and fees, making it difficult for consumers to understand whether they are getting a fair deal. Kelley Blue Book had trusted market data, but there was an opportunity to bring that insight into an interactive experience that could support decision-making directly on the dealership lot. The challenge was to translate complex financial information into a clear, confidence-building tool that empowers users during negotiations.
I led the product design from strategy through execution, shaping the experience vision, UX architecture, and interaction model while delivering high-fidelity designs and prototypes that enabled real-time financial feedback. The work focused on translating complex pricing and financing data into a clear, confidence-driven experience aligned with both user needs and business goals.
The experience was structured around progressive disclosure, breaking the deal into modular sections that users could adjust independently while maintaining full context. Real-time recalculation, persistent affordability feedback, and a confidence score simplified complex inputs into intuitive signals, helping users quickly understand the impact of their decisions throughout the purchase process.
Deal Advisor expanded Kelley Blue Book’s product ecosystem beyond research into active purchase decision support, increasing user engagement during the buying journey and opening opportunities for financing integrations and partner revenue channels. The product demonstrated how transparency and thoughtful UX can reduce anxiety and increase confidence in high-stakes financial decisions.
